Kopaka

BACKSTORY:
For most dragons in Clan Loki, close to nothing is known about Kopaka and where he came from. What is generally known boils down to 1.) he arrived with Loki from a clan in the Tsunami Flats, 2.) he’s super smart and 3.) he’s a dragon who possesses some rather surprising talents.

PERSONALITY:
At first glance, of all the dragons in Clan Loki, Kopaka is easily the most unnervingly mysterious. He generally spends his time observing his surroundings with a keen and calculating eye, making most folks he meets rather nervous. Indeed, just about anyone who’s been subjected to that cool, penetrating gaze gathers the distinct impression that he might be reading their mind. When he does speak, he is usually quite polite, if a bit reserved, and most likely has something important or meaningful to say to have spoken in the first place. Stoic and solitary as he is, there are only a few dragons in the clan--Gali, Pohatu and Sido--who can claim they know a thing about Kopaka. If you were to ask them, they would tell you that beneath his apparently frigid demeanor, there beats a caring, gentle and poetic heart. Kopaka is also immensely intelligent, often the first to come up with quick and effective solutions to difficult problems the clan faces either in the Coliseum or out on gathering trips- a trait his clanmate, Likahn greatly appreciates. In his spare time, Kopaka likes to put quill to parchment, scribbling down eloquent poems and songs, the latter of which he performs himself, usually when he thinks there’s no one around to hear him. This doesn’t, however, mean that no one has heard him (and all of them agree that Kopaka is a fantastic singer). It is a rare thing to see this stone-faced dragon crack a smile, but if anyone can make him, it’s usually the motor-mouthed Pohatu, who seems to have made it his goal in life to take it a step further and make his best friend laugh. There is one dragon, Gali, who has already succeeded in doing this, and she is also the only member of Clan Loki who Kopaka has openly performed his songs for. Her theory is that he’s simply incredibly modest. There is one trait that many members of the clan were surprised to discover- Kopaka can be insecure and a tad jealous, as proven when Gali was invited to visit a clan in the Fire region and came back with a daughter. During her absence, Kopaka was even quieter than usual and entered a state of dejection that even Pohatu couldn’t cheer him up from. Fortunately, he is not the resentful type, and was overjoyed to have his mate back; he even welcomed the hatchling with open wings as if she were his own, going so far as to name her. Since that visit, however, Kopaka has become incredibly protective of his mate, and her daughter, as well.

As the only dragon without a nickname, Gali, as is her wont to do, is always trying to find him the perfect one.
