Kermit
Alpha Male/Head of Stealth Missions

"Our pasts don't define us...well, so long as you scratch out the rough parts, at least."

Overview
Kermit is a clever, stealthy, and at times mischievous dragon, as well as the Alpha male of the clan. He is very upfront and blunt in most cases, and has a reputation for his often harsh honesty. Originally a rogue dragon, he encountered Cattail shortly after she had formed her own clan, and decided to seek protection by joining her. Since then, he has shown boundless confidence and promise for the clan. Alongside his role as an Alpha, he also specializes in stealth missions and most of all enjoys intense battles (of which he is usually the victor). Rumors of him being dishonorably expelled from a previous clan run rampant and threaten his position, but he simply shrugs them off and offers an alternative story every time the subject is brought up. Some find him hard to trust because of the occasional trouble he stirs up, but surprisingly, Cattail finds him to be an invaluable member of her clan and considers him to be her mate.

Most doubts about Kermit's loyalty and shady past were laid to rest the day he received the Betta's Blessing. Believed by much of the clan to be a gift from the Tidelord himself, Kermit began to grow colorful frills and fans, better adjusting his body to life underwater. Few know the true origin of his aquatic mutations, and those that have even the slightest inkling dare not speak up. Still, whispered rumors of a specialized mutagen brewed by the clan's own potionsmaster dampen the supposed miracle's veracity.

History
Mirrors shouldn’t travel alone; that lesson was the first among many Kermit had learned in his youth. And yet, here he was, shimmying through the sludgy seabottom without another soul in sight.

It was his own fault, and he knew that well. The blood on his claws was still fresh, leaving a pinkish hue on his jet-black talons. His tongue darted past his razor teeth, savoring the memory of its latest taste; a clanmate’s flesh was a delicacy he only intended to sample once. A fitting end for someone who’d just as soon do the same to him.

His clan didn’t see it that way. Kermit tried to explain, but they couldn’t see the massacre he’d spared them from. Their hypocrisy blinded Kermit, and he could hardly protest as they resolved to exile him from the only family he’d ever known.

Not that he’d leave without a fight. Blood begets blood, as Kermit knew well. This was the last lesson Kermit learned from his clan before they cast him out.

Creatures didn’t interest Kermit much. His time spent as a rogue meant that he saw most of them as a source of sustenance and little else. Few in the clan shared this sentiment, to the point that every dragon within its borders gladly took a familiar under their wing. Kermit resisted this tradition as long as he could, citing his position as a clan leader.

“How things change,” Kermit sighed, lounging beside Feather. The Parda’s radiant colors mirrored his own, an unnatural set of pigments that served little purpose beyond making them easy targets. Kermit had never asked for the Betta’s Blessing, much less expected it, but it relegated him to a behind-the-scenes role in his duty as the Head of Stealth Missions. He didn’t think his griping on the matter all that significant, yet Cattail still presented Feather to him with a knowing smile.
