"Is it hot in here? Sorry, I didn't notice."

- - - -The oppressive humidity of the Gladeveins kept Relin down for most of her childhood. By adolescence, she discovered a passion for metallurgy and glassblowing, marveling at the way rigid materials became pliable and fluid with searing heat. In her teenage years, she struck out from her birth clan and headed towards the Great Furnace. Though she still loved the Gladekeeper, Relin's heart belonged to the Flame Mother. A few kind souls gave her advice and pointed her the right way, but most dragons of the Ashfall Wastes openly spurned her wishes to become a great fire-wielder. Unable to shed her natural acuity for Nature magic, Relin was often on the brink of giving up and going home.
- - - -A few months into her travels, a traveling clan caught Relin's attention; or, rather, their crystalline mage did. She lingered in the shadows and smoke for a while, but her curiosity got the best of her. Upon meeting said mage and his leader, Relin was offered a place in the small clan. Though they were on their way to the Starfall Isles, months of travel away from the Ashfall Wastes, anywhere was better than the place that rejected her at every turn.
- - - -Insufferably chatty, Relin pestered Minxy for most of the trip. She wanted to dabble in Arcane magic and learn how alchemy could produce cold chemical reactions, but half the time she studied Minxy's glittering coat rather than his words, and after a while he simply gave up trying to teach her anything. To this day, Relin goes to him when she feels lonely, no matter how adamantly Minxy spurns her advances.
