From whence Zharalun came is unknown and what his ultimate purpose is, he will not reveal. The strange Coatl came to the Pyreshivan Stronghold one day and declared at least that he had heard rumors of its master and the amassed knowledge that was stored within. In exchange for access to the knowledge, he promised Pentarax that at the very least he would reveal the fruits of his labors when they were ripe.

It was most certainly a ruinous moment for the otherwise dramatic occasion that Pentarax simply shrugged and made some snarky comment about Zharalun apparently wishing to open the most pompous of orchards in the land.

Despite what was certainly an uncertain beginning to the alliance, both Skydancer and Coatl have learned much of the other over the years. Pentarax has shared his own knowledge of other worlds -a secret he typically keeps within his immediate family- and Zharalun has in turn shared his techniques for accessing those other worlds with the technology and magicks available on Sornieth.

Indeed it was not long before Zharalun made a particularly noteworthy discovery with the help of another...

Knowing of Zharalun's interest in the weird and strange, Pentarax returned from an excursion to the Ghostlight Ruins with a strange creature in tow. Curiously, as soon as the nameless spirit turned its sightless face in the Coatl's direction, it ceased struggling and became servile. What bond was forged between the two in that moment remains unknown and neither will speak of it.
