One day, many years ago, Grimsnare wondered upon this magnificent piece of land. He was a Mirror at the time, and had brought a bright, sun-colored Fae along with him. Her name was Sunbelt. The two had started a clan together, producing two beautiful children. That was when the rebels attacked the Light. Sunbelt took the children and left to serve the Lightweaver. Grimsnare stayed with the clan he had formed. As the months passed, he grew lonely. That was when he met Kerr. She was an excellent warrior, teaching him many new fighting techniques. After a while, he found himself falling in love. At first, she rejected him. But, as the days turned into weeks, she accepted his advances. Together, they hatched one baby girl. This one was quite a handful, soon leaving the lair. Kerr missed her daughter, and didn't feel at home in Light. So, she left. Kerr moved on to the Plague flight, and became a trainer to the clan. This left Grimsnare even more heartbroken. Being the only progenitor, he has the right to make many executive decisions, but he also has to witness many dragons come and go. Because Grimsnare had been busy trying to mend his broken heart, he had never fully explored the region that his clan had claimed. Due to this, he had unknowingly stumbled upon a strange fountain. This fountain could change the dragons that drank it's water. Thirsty, and unknowing of the fountain's power, Grimsnare drank and drank. He had begun to feel woozy, so he fell to his stomach. When he opened his eyes in the morning, he felt different. He could no longer sense heat, and he took up more space than before. Looking at his reflection in the water, he realized that he was no longer himself. He had patterns on his skin and was more snake-like in appearance. His wings resembled those of a butterfly. He quickly returned to his lair and informed the residents of the magical fountain. Flocks of dragons visited the fountain every day, and that was where he found his forever mate, Garnet. After residing in Light for a total of 7 months, he made the executive decision to move himself and the clan to the Ice flight. After close to two years and one final clutch together, Grimsnare and Garnet split ways. Grimsnare, heartbroken and still not fully accepting of his Coatl body, traveled back to the mysterious fountain. Here, he felt to unrelenting urge to test the water once again. His form was altered for the second time, but rather than becoming more snake-like, he changed to a more ancient form - a Banescale. Once again, the designs on his scales changed along with the shape of his body. This new form fit him like a glove. After some time alone, Grimsnare found a younger Banescale by the name of Lilith. The two bonded quickly, and Grimsnare soon asked her to be his mate. She joyfully agreed and the two have become inseparable. Lilith, now Grimsnare's closest friend, began to take on more important roles in the clan. |
