 B I O G R A P H Y
Gwenyth was a lone warrior then, wandering from place to place, fighting whatever seemed interesting at the time. Until one day she took what could have been a near fatal wound in a fight. She was saved instead. A delicate fae who carefully nursed her back to health. She spent hours sitting with him, debating between peace and war, between diplomacy and defense. It was a strange sort of bliss. Eventually Gwenyth learned his name was Mortarion. Within, four months, they wanted to stay together. Mortarion shyly revealed plans for a more peaceful, knowledge oriented clan. Gwenyth was doubtful but agreed anyways. She didn’t quite believe any clan could avoid fighting forever. Eventually they left their home in Light and settled in Arcane. While wandering, they came upon an old Arcane satellite whose owners had long since vanished. Mortarion was overjoyed. Here would be their new home. It even came when a few dragons who already lived there and were okay with joining their clan. Gwenyth, ever the practical one, got down to rebuilding and adapting it. She’d help him achieve his dream. It was a blissful time as their clan grew. People coming and going, sights to see out in the distant beyond. In space, there was rarely any troubles. Gwenyth would change at the restrictions but Mortarion always seemed so happy. Their arguments grew more frequent. As easy as life off planet was, landing parties could be ambushed. One or two dragons had to be driven off the ship in order to keep everyone safe. Gwenyth demanded stricter measures be taken, a guard instituted for landing parties. Mortarion disagrees, claiming it went against their values. ”They were your values! Never mine!” She left, hoping separation would bring peace. Mortarion died. A piece of Gwenyth went with him. It was an accident in a way. The landing party had stumbled straight into an angry Beastclan camp. Mortarion has no real fighting prowess. Even if she could have reached them, she likely couldn’t have defeated them all. Gwenyth disagreed. It was all her fault. Maybe if she and others hadn’t been hostile to the Beastclan, they would have been willing to listen. Mortarion would still be alive. She came back to pilot the ship alone. She follows his ideals now. Someone needs to keep Mortarion’s dream alive. Why not her? (And if her quest for pacifism, she ignores the growing darkness on the ship, those who do not agree with peace? Mortarion would have done the same) Once a warrior. Now an oblivious pacifist, full of regrets..
