Darani

The Clan's Huntmistress, Darani is in charge of keeping the sores stocked and organizing patrols to gather what food they need. Short-tempered and blunt, she is not a dragon anyone would want to get on the bad side of.

Originating from a clan on the border between the Isles and the Scarred Wasteland, Darani is used to taking every opportunity to survive. When a plague carried over from the Contagion began to wipe out her relatively large Clan, she fled without a second thought. She still thinks of them fondly, remembering those lost, but she had to survive. It was what her Clan had taught her. It was a long way she wandered, alone, before she settled on the Plateau with the Windblown. She came to them, battered and wounded from her many battles and scrapes. It was Osirin who found her, half-conscious and ill, on their northern border. The Imperial healer scooped her up and took her home, mending her despite her half-hearted protests. Soon she was healthy again, and stepped into place as the Clan's huntmistress, taking a tedious task off of Bastia's overfull plate.

In time, she warmed to Osirin's seemingly-constant attention, seeing it as the well-intentioned worry it was, rather than the insulting implication that she couldn't take care of herself. Soon enough, she began courting him, and their awkward interactions provide a source of source of quiet laughter and hope for the Clan, sorely needed after the loss of the hatchlings.
