Background
Kraken was one of the first members of Clan XX. How a Shadow dragon ended up in Nature territory is a question that Kraken hasn't offered to answer. Despite his mysterious origins, Kraken is one of the most trusted and trustworthy members of Clan XX. He was the clan's first warrior and he has personally trained all other warriors. Kraken has final say in who is allowed to enter the Coliseum.

Personality
Unlike most Shadow dragons, Kraken is a quiet and serious individual. His trickster nature and love of games shows most in combat, where he excels at crafting strategy and beating the odds. While Kraken enjoys combat immensely, he takes his duties as Battlemaster very seriously and considers his warriors as family.

Family
Kraken has no permanent mate and although he has had many children, only one so far has chosen to stay in clan XX instead Exalting. Sumac, the clan Scribe, takes very closely after his father and the two of them are very close.

Kraken works closely with Ceresa, Sumac's mate, to help advise and train dragons who have chosen to Exhalt themselves. While Kraken is very fond of Ceresa, he finds that he is unable to fully embrace her into his heart as he has Sumac and Cybele. Perhaps on some unacknowledged level Kraken blames her for so many of his children chosing to join the Glademother.

Kraken's granddaughter Cybele is the center of his world. He has loved her since she first crawled out of her egg and he always has time for her latest prank or game. Cybele is one of the few things that will bring out Kraken's playful trickster demeanor.
