Ashes was found in an illegal nest when the lair expanded, no one knew who her parents were. Her brother, a brightly colored wildclaw, and here were alone. As half of all nests are to be exalted, Static, one of the dragons who found the nest, advised that she be the one exulted, since she was dull in color and probably sickly. Arkar objected to sending a weak dragon to the gladekeeper, and instead trained her brother to be a nature ambassador instead. He left the clan, and became a spy in a plague clan. He often writes to his sister with information on cures to the strange diseases that plague brews.

Ash as she is called was named by Static, but adopted and raised by Magestone. the spiral loves Ash like a little sister, and she lives with him in the mage tower. She is the arcane princess, even though she was born in nature, and is very interested in all fields of study. She often helps Xan out in the library.

Ash has a crush on Xan, this is her most closely guarded secret. She is also very willing to give unsolicited relationship advice to the dragons around her.
