Biography
Zaria knew she should feel grateful to the FreeFlight team for what they had done for her. She was the only hatchling that had been kept, she was always fed and had plenty of shelter. But she wasn't happy.
People kept comparing her to her mother, how she looked almost exactly like her. But she felt more than that, because of her darker colours she felt more like her shadow, like she was supposed to grow up and follow in her footsteps. She didn't want that, she wanted to live her life how she wanted, not how her mother wanted.
It wasn't until her mothers frosty features came out on here that there was finally a difference between them, but it didn't make her feel any better and it wouldn't until they looked nothing like one another. She'd been saving up treasure, trying to get the genes she wanted and now finally she could afford it. She could show her frosty colours to the world instead of keeping them hidden. Her plan had worked out perfectly.
Everyone was happy with her new look and her decision to change her name to Zarina. It was only a small change, but it made her feel more independent. What made her heart swell however, was the smile her mother gave her whenever she walked in, the look of a proud dragon. She heard Ramola talking about her all the time to others, about how her daughter had really come out of her shell and embraced a completely new look, all by herself.
After she had adapted to the final gene, she had never felt happier. Finally, she felt like she was in the light and not in her mothers shadow. She fully intended on passing her new genes on, now it was just the question of finding the perfect mate.
