Big lairs need scouts. That's just how it is and Noctis is a darn good scout. He's fast and creative enough to look in unusual places and above all: when he finds a place he can get the information back fast. Now sometimes that means he may literally just yell the information over the hills and back but sometimes he'll actually run it back. Sometimes. Noctis also gives off a rather 'cool' air. And he is pretty cool in fairness but it stems more from the sense of mystery around him than anything else. What's not cool about the loner rouge who is constantly disappearing off into the wilderness? That's totally cool! Though if people got to know him better they'd realize that his loud mouth often gets him in trouble- and that he often tries to speak so fast that he stumbles quite embarrassingly over his words.
