Gears is the only other dragon to have survived the attack on the clan. He had been in the back of the clans lair, in his alcove, making potions. When the attack reached him, he fought, but the attack was far too much for him to deal with. Unable to fight, he desperately tried to protect the clan that took him in when no one else would. They had gone for their leader first, and everyone was in disarray after he had fallen. He could only see to it that he try to save anyone he could. And he did. The first dragon he came upon, a wounded Sage. One of the first dragons to accept him into the clan. He would not let her die. He forced the ridgeback up and into his alcove, shoving her into the lichen that hid their true valuables. No one knew of this place but the leader and himself. Unable to fit anyone else in, he vowed he would fight to the death if they found them. It was not needed though, as they were not.
He now stands as the Shaman. He works tirelessly to make sure they have enough to survive anything. He dug out a bigger space in the alcove, digging until his claws were run ragged.

An otherwise peaceful dragon, he was once found as odd and overly methodical. He still enjoys going out at night and returning with lost souls in jars to light the clans home.
