As Fitz does, Flora has found the clan much different than the territory she spent her earliest days in. However, she has brought her homeland in her personality. She is quiet yet manipulative, making sure everything in the Myrne Clan is how she wants it without anyone even realizing. As far as anyone else knows, she's just a ditzy coatl who can hunt decently. Flora has plans to take over the clan, but she has bided her time. She has waited for the clan to take in more dragons, and potential allies. In the meantime, she befriended the other coatls in the clan, hoping to win their loyalty over time. She thought Fitz might make a decent mate, since he was the advisor.

Scatter came to her, miserable over Lumiae's rejection. Though Flora knew Lumiae's motives were pure and her reasoning sound, she slowly got Scatter to believe the opposite. He is now very much loyal to Flora. He would be useful during the takeover. However, Scatter seems to be getting a bit too comfortable with Flora. She would to put him in his place once she takes over. She would put everybody in their place then. It would be soon. Havande and Vandrade were still recovering from Aurin suddenly leaving. They would be too weak to stop Flora.

Her takeover went perfectly. At night, she took Scatter as her mate. He has decent genes, and it would be fun to raise him up before crushing his dreams. The best dragons to break are the ones that are the most confident in their positions. Flora told Scatter her plan to take over the Myrne clan. Predictably, he promised to support her. The two woke some of Flora's other friends, explaining the plan and offering them a choice. Those who agreed to help joined her in securing the cave against escape. Those few who disagreed were neatly tied up and left against a wall. Once all of Flora's supporters were awake, they tied up Havande and Vandrade and set a guard.

Flora and Scatter are the parents of two hatchlings. She originally had her doubts about choosing to cast them out of the clan, but she has since decided that it was for the best. They would be able to spread the name of Flora.

While on a walk, Flora encountered an extraordinarily handsome Pearlcatcher named Destinaxe. He said he was a wanderer, looking for a place to stay. The two walked together, and talked for a while. She learned his story, and other facts about him. By the time the two returned to the clan, they had each decided that the other was a fine, desirable mate that they would take. Flora ignored Scatter's visible pain when he saw Flora with the pearlcatcher. She told Scatter to loosen up a bit. Her and Destinaxe laughed at him. Nothing more was said. Their relationship continued, neither caring when it would end. Flora and Destinaxe had two hatchlings.

Flora was dethroned quickly and smoothly. The Council assured her that while they were quite upset with her ruling style, they were not as harsh as her. She was not cast out, nor chained up. She was just given small lodgings in a corner of the lair and told to find a hobby to keep herself busy. There were plenty of books for her to read. That was okay. And Fitz came to visit. He became her mate, which was terribly useful. She would claw her way out of this pit that the Council dumped her in. She would once again be respected and feared.
