Pohatu

BACKSTORY:
Previously born in a clan in The Sea of a Thousand Currents, Pohatu quickly found he was an unwanted member, pushed away and ignored at every turn by his clanmates. He soon decided to leave, but just as soon, a mysterious yet charming stranger showed up, looking for dragons to form a clan with. Pohatu discovered that the stranger, an unusual creature by the name of Loki, was a close companion of his current clan’s leader and, though excited by Loki’s invitation, harbored doubts about accepting, wondering if he would be pushed away as soon as the other dragons met him.
“There’s plenty of room in our lair,” Loki told him, “You haven’t anything to fear from my magnificent band of misfits!” Fortunately, Pohatu’s desire to experience something new won out and he soon accepted Loki’s, offer. Upon arriving, he was greeted with far more enthusiasm and warmth than he had been expecting, let alone hoping for. The females of the clan, Mariketa, Sido and Elsie, proved to be welcoming and reasonable dragons who made a quick friend of him. Seti, the only other male at the time (and a Mirror as well, to boot!) turned out to be an admirable leader in Pohatu’s eyes and he soon found a comfortable home and good teachers within Clan Loki. Sido, especially, took an interest in him and they eventually became a mated pair.

PERSONALITY:
Before joining Clan Loki, Pohatu was a sullen and quiet sort, generally keeping to his own corner of the lair. He did his best to be friendly and peaceable with the other members of his clan, but as this often proved fruitless, he ended up becoming an awkward and somewhat insecure dragon, which was viewed as odd, especially for the generally aloof Mirror breed. After Loki’s invitation, Pohatu began to develop some shreds of confidence, and soon, in the company of the dragons of Clan Loki, became one of the most cheerful and open-armed...er...open-winged dragons of the clan. A notable characteristic he’s developed is that he can be quite chatty most of the time, inspiring some dragons in Clan Loki to refer to him as a ‘Spiral in a Mirror’s body’. None of the dragons seem to mind this, though, as Pohatu has also proven to possess quite a wit about him; his chatter, though incessant, has become quite the source of entertainment on stormy days, a gift he seems to have passed on to his daughter, Ninko. Despite his progress, Pohatu does still harbor some of his old insecurities. But these moments of vulnerability are easily dispelled by time spent with his mate, Sido and his best friend, Kopaka (who is, ironically, one of the least talkative dragons in the clan). He admires the clan leaders, Loki, Seti and Mariketa greatly, feeling a great sense of respect and gratitude to all three for bringing him into their clan.
