Biography
Despite being generally very refined looking, Jade is actually a generally harsh kind of dragon who doesn't care much for ceremony. She often makes various small social blunders, even without speaking- and it will always be without speaking, as Jade can just barely speak the Coatl language, let alone common Draconic. Despite her difficulty speaking, however, she can normally get her point across- she's very expressive.
Jade isn't normally overly judgemental, though she is practical and easily irritated. She will take the shortest, most efficient solution to most problems, and gets frustrated when other dragons do not understand that they should ALSO be taking a short, efficient solution to their issues. She doesn't have much patience for puzzles or roadblocks, either, and has been known to figure out what the brute force method of getting through a puzzle is (though she cannot use these methods herself- large parts of her body are brittle, making brute force a bad plan).
The thing that frustrates Jade the most, however, is when people assume she's unintelligent because her brain doesn't process speech correctly. She is, in fact, very intelligent, a good planner, and a good friend. She just can't actually respond back when people talk to her. This leads to her overall irritable personality; she's constantly frustrated by being ignored.
It's easier for Jade to process visual information than auditory information, and if too many people are talking at once, a person is talking too quickly, or she is expected to remember specific directions, she will often scramble what was being said in her head or become completely unable to understand the conversation. For important conversations, therefore, it is always easier to write things down for her. She has very good handwriting and will often write things down to try to enumerate specific plans. She has a pidgin sign language she uses, too- though it's hard for people who don't spend much time with her to understand as, unfortunately, she was never properly taught formal sign.
The irritable dragon Jade has had a rather tough life. From an early age, she was mostly left behind by her significantly more colorful and less disabled family, until finally she half-left, half was abandoned altogether. As a result, while she's a good friend to those that earn it, she takes weeks to trust most people. She can normally pick out the dragons she trusts most as those that make the effort to understand her and be understood by her, though.
Her closest friends in the clan are Mousey- because no one who manages to remember Mousey can also manage to hate him- and, strangely, Orchidfoot- despite his rapid-fire, nervous speech, he tends to appreciate and treat Jade well. Knowing Orchidfoot means Jade knows Hihiri fairly well as well, though they get along more tenuously. Hihiri means well, but Jade doesn't appreciate some of his magical experiments.
Jade is a healer and mage for the clan.
