    With the wrong materials, not much can be done with a black piece of paper. Pencil and pen hardly show, marker will just leave dark stains, and a printer rarely knows what to do with it. The unoriginal will just give it up as a lost cause and move on to the lighter colours they are more familiar with.

    But take a crayon, gel pen, pastel, or even paint, and that boring piece of paper is quick to gain life and beauty beyond compare.

    It is this attitude Streak brought into the world. Born into the ice clan, he was surrounded by the light colours that commonly catch one's eye. They belonged, fitting in with the surroundings perfectly. A dark dragon doesn't belong as a glaring sore spot against the snowy expanse going as far as the eye could see.

    Yet he knew better. He knew that he would bring beauty into the world as well, even if he had to do it one tiny streak of colour at a time.
