Glittermaker
Metallurgy, forging, and a lot of polishing "They want purple? Holy Flamecaller, I'm going to need five minutes on that one. Singeclaw doesn't talk much of his younger days. He came along with three others - Amberclaw, Bucky, and the since departed Cloudrise - after their old clan was disbanded. They settled in, and Singeclaw initially found it easy to open up with Despina, partially because looking at her may as well have been looking in a mirror. The relationship they struck up grew, and through her Singeclaw managed to integrate. He is a skilled metalworker and metallurgist, which Despina has clarified comes from his Ashfall upbringing, but he never quite found a calling until another coatl, Torch, settled into the cave system and laid out some ambitions to begin glitter manufacturing, assuring the clan that given the clan's location in Sunbeam it would be lucrative. As it turned out, she wasn't wrong. Singeclaw was happy to help out, giving Torch some ideas on variations on glitter - shiny silver is a good standard to have, but varied colours, iridescence, little differences that make for a broad output that's a little more distinct than most. Since Torch returned once again to her birth clan in Ashfall, Singeclaw is now usually alone in her forge continuing her ambition. He is somewhat anxious to take on an apprentice of his own but so far no suitable candidate has appeared. Outside his line of work Singeclaw usually keeps himself to himself. If he ventures out to socialise it's almost always with Despina, and if not then it's with Torch. It may be an effect of his previous clan's end that leaves him unsociable, but that's how he is. It means his personality is largely unknown - and it's looking like it's going to stay that way for a long time. Despina maintains he's pretty nice though. Singeclaw lives with Despina in a small cavern towards the back of the lair. Their chamber connects to Torch's forge, which in turn connects upwards to the glitter store - a very optimal layout courtesy of Rhenelle. Singeclaw enjoys the company of a blazing goblin, perfect company for Torch's molten marauder - the two even help with the glitter on occasion, plus they make for adorable mascots for the store. |
