- The Black Faerie -
Priestess | Necromancer | Witch
"They want death? Let them have it."
|
They say the black witch was hatched in the Viridian Labyrinth, among roses and honeysuckle. Whether that is true, we do not know; She will not speak of it. They say she watched her sisters grow, all in brilliant colors, while her own coat and feathers were dull as autumn leaves. Their magic made such beautiful things - swirling vines, delicate flowers, but no matter how hard she tried, she could not make things grow. Anything she touched withered and died, and for each wilted flower her hope waned. Is this my fate? They began to fear her, then. She did not belong. And as the years went by, her magic became stronger, and anything within her presence would slowly rot away. She came to envy her siblings their creations, and despair turned to spite, sadness to hatred. Her pain turned outward and the aura of decay began to extend to dragons, corrupting all but the strongest druids. So she wandered the woods, spreading her black rot, until one day she was at last driven away. Far, far away. She dwells in a part of the lair not often visited; One that could be likened to a garden, if the roses smelled of sweet rot and the trees were twisted and bare. There the black faerie tends to her own creations, and though they may be dead and decayed, to her, they are the most beautiful of all the flowers in the gardens. After the eruption of the Seedscar, her penchant for decay has at last been put to purpose. Nemorosa revels in having a place where she is not only useful, but vital; The appreciation of fellow plague magi has done more for her temper than anything else, and she appears to have acquired a strong sense of duty, which she remains happily obliging. |
Voice | Theme Name: Nemorosa; Derived from Anemone nemorosa, a small, white flower; Nemo is also Latin for "no one" |
