Elowynne was born in the warm undergrowth in the Nature domain, but she never felt at home there. When she overheard a few of her old clanmates talking of a Lightning clan they were friendly with, she knew what her fate was. She had to go there. She had begged and begged her parents, the clan warriors, even the mail carriers, but no one would take her. "You're much too young, sweetheart". "You could get hurt out there". "You'll hate it if you get there". No one would listen to her. But she knew in her heart that it's where she belonged. And although she loved her family and birth clan, they were not her true home. So in the dead of night when all (most) were asleep, she packed her few belongings and set out for the desert. And got hopelessly lost. Elowynne was still just a hatchling and couldn't quite fly the best. So she walked, and in the thick growth of her origins she had no idea where she was going. Lucky for her, she was found by a friendly Skydancer. Even more lucky for her, it was Suzy Skysong. Suzy was also born in the Nature domain, and loved to visit and gather samples of the native flora. Suzy quickly grew fond of the little guardian hatchling, and she had such an impact on young Elowynne that she wanted to be a beautiful Skydancer just like Suzy. And after a long flight back to Suzy's home did Elowynne realize just how lucky her run-in with Suzy had been; Suzy lived in a Lightning clan. |

Elowynne was very uncomfortable her first day in her new home. She had already caused a huge fight between the Pearlcatcher who seemed to be the leader, and angry Mirror with cybernetic enhancements (Creepy!), and a stressed looking Skydancer who seemed to always be up to her neck in paper work. But she'd finally received the magic scroll, and started her new life not as a guardian, but as a Skydancer. The transformation was disorientating, to say the least. The world suddenly seems a lot bigger than she remembered, and she felt much lighter. Her wings were soft with puffy down, and her feet were so tiny. She had but a few moments to become aware of her new self before she was toppled over by the other two hatchlings in the clan at the moment. She was surprised because the two baby Skydancer boys were the same size as her! She was one of them, yet she felt awkward. Again, Elowynne was very lucky, because Syndicate and Equinox were pretty excited to have a new friend their age and quickly implemented her into their little group. The three became fast friends. As they grew, they discovered their magic, much to the dismay of everyone else. Syndicate was always interested in Elowynne's Nature magic, although she couldn't understand why. He had Lightning magic! Not fair. The two of them together loved to play tricks on the others in the clan, usually involving pretending one's magic was actually the other's. Although they were good at little pranks, Equinox was the real trickster. With his Shadow magic and quick thinking, he managed to get the trio into more trouble than three Skydancers were worth. It was fun while it lasted, but they didn't stay hatchlings forever. As she grew older, Elowynne felt her destiny call within her. She thought the feeling would have left after she'd changed from a guardian, but the feeling still persisted. It was much, much weaker than before her change, but nonetheless it was still there. She knew she was supposed to have a charge, but was it different because she's a Skydancer now? She mulled over the thoughts and feelings every night. It wasn't until she moved out of Suzy's makeshift nest in the reservoir that she knew what she was feeling. As she was no longer a hatchling, she got to move into her own lair and lab. Well, not entirely her own; she got to share with her two best pals in the entire clan. The three of them designed the lair to their own interests, quickly filling up the cavern with junk they found interesting. While Elowynne loved both of her friends very dearly, she couldn't help but feel something was different about Syndicate. Something leftover inside of her from her birth as a Guardian made her feel this way, she knew it. And after Equinox left the lair to be with Solstice (a relationship Elowynne would never support, but would also never say to her friend's face), her and Syndicate became much closer. She knew she would be best of friends with him, forever. |
