Muse had always been told if she had faith in the world, the world would never lose its faith in her. Born between prestigious walls to a high-ranking pair in her clan, she blossomed under unwavering praise and comfort in her steps. Authority respected her, kindness inspired her, and she had no worries growing older—family support flanked her on all sides. They admired her shimmering coat and promised her happiness so long as she brought it to others.
But things changed when adolescence struck, and Muse found the itch to travel outside the box and outside her clan. While family life was peaceful and quaint, there was no forward pulse, nothing Muse could sink herself into and grow from. Her thirst for knowledge and higher things drove her to spread her wings and seek foreign lands, where she was welcomed and hailed in a new country for her beauty and fierce dedication to learning. She was old enough to take a mate, but she had other plans—and first up, she was ready to sink her teeth into the scholarly world. To this day, Muse is still learning; she’s poring over scrambled history on weathered pages; she’s soaking up everything she can find. But oftentimes her nose is too held captive in her books ambitions to notice the eyes that watch the way she moves or the glint of those sun-streaked wings. She says she has no time for love—but perhaps one day, the right dragon will come along to match her drive step for step and help her climb to the top. She continues to hold her faith. She is not sure where it will lead her or what may still be held in store just beyond the horizon of her sighs, but she will never lose grasp on her search for higher worlds. She knows there is always more out there—and she hopes whatever it is, it will have faith in her, too.
