Raphael left wind territory to escape the chaotic life of the twisting crescendo. He has no ill-will towards his family, but he could not stay there any longer. He is perhaps a strange anomaly in terms of wind flight personalities, but it suits him all the same. He prefers a quiet but meaningful life, and excels in resource management and planning. He came to the Whitewood upon request, a messenger dove finding him even when he felt lost. They were in need of a dragon with his skills, and he was more than happy to humor the strange talking bird. Upon entering the Whitewood he was immediately taken back by it's beauty and tranquility. The trees of white and red appealed to him in a way the hard stalks of bamboo in his homeland never had. It filled him with a sense of peace and he knew right away he had been caught by the Whitewood. It was of little work to convince him to stay after his introduction to the small village that housed the clan of the wood itself. Though he felt out of place at first, he quickly grew into his role as the clan quartermaster. No goods passed through the village without his approval and watchful eye, and the village prospered under his watch. Though in terms of scale his position may seem trivial compared to the revered sentinels and hunters, Raphael takes great pride in his job. He treats the success of the village each year as his own personal victory, and he is pleased whenever he is able to acquire a desired but rare good requested by a villager. He is a savvy merchant and negotiator able to control the outcome of a deal without slighting either party. It has earned him a great deal of respect outside of the Whitewood, and his contacts are always eager to assist him in his search for rare goods. The Priestess of the temple and leader of the clan personally request items from him when needed, and that is all the fortune in life that he desires. Under his tutelage and care is a dragon by the name of Bastien. Though he is an ambassador to the Whitewood from another clan, his small list of duties gives him uch free time to help Raphael in his business. Having raised him from a small child, Raphael considers him his Unexpected child, and treats him as a son. |
