Lore

Avira was taught to survive by her mother Nephthys. They lived as peasants on the outskirts of a kingdom for part of her life, until her mother seduced the King. She would manipulate the King into entering wars and causing chaos. Eventually, her sister Mali was born from the union.

The council noticed Nephthys’ hold over the king. They knew something had to be done or their kingdom would fall. Discussions with the King ended in heated arguments and eventually they only had one choice. They hired mercenaries to kill the family in the middle of the night.

Nephthys fought valiantly but she knew she was outnumbered. She distracted them long enough for her daughters to escape.

The two wandered until they found themselves in the Plague lands. Using the tactics they learned from their mother, they wormed their way into the graces of another clan leader. Eventually they would convince the leader to enter war and this would cause the fall of the kingdom. They would all perish in the war.

The spirits of Avira and Mali remained tethered to the world after death. The king they had deceived now a small purple bat-like orb flittering around them. They would continue to lure in unsuspecting dragons and turn them to madness until they too perished.

Until one day a small wildclaw wandered near their den. Blademaw was very young and seemed to be running from his troubles within his nearby clan. Possibly due to his young age Avira took a liking to him and treated him as her own child. She comforted him and eventually convinced him to return to this clan – the wilds of the Plaguelands were far too dangerous for a dragon of his age. He could still return to her cave and visit her, though.

Over the years he would do just that. He struggled to fit in with his fellow hatchlings within his clan and was viewed as a black sheep, but Avira and Mali were always there for him.
During his aging up ceremony there was a conflict with another hatchling after they played a prank on him. He lost control of his emotions and began lashing out and attacking everyone. This continued until his father was able to stop him and calm him. Many dragons were injured.

The clan demanded his exile. His mother, Nunki, was the Matriarch of the clan and loved him dearly. He knew this and decided to voluntarily leave the clan so she would not have to make the decision. He found his way to Avira and Mali.

Shortly after he left his clan Avira and Mali lead him to an injured dragon nearby. This would be the first member of his new clan of misfits. He rescued the wildclaw Thornbane and brought him back to their home. More misfits would come later and Avira and Mali would be by Blademaw’s side, guiding him on leading his ever growing clan.
