Possessing great magical grace from a young age, Illidan became quite good at hunting demons Shade dragons, who were using their shady magic for dark and evil deeds. He soon took a wrong turn, letting his own magic become corrupted while trying to bring an end to a greater evil. It didn't bother him much, as he firmly believes that the goal justifies the means. It did bring a slight problem though, as he soon got another demon hunting dragon at his heels, trying to bring him down; the Wildclaw Maiev.

After years and years of a grisly hunt that brought them throughout the entire Sornieth, something strange happened. The two of them began to realize that, while they had thought they couldn't live with the other, they actually couldn't live without the other. And so a grisly hunt became a very grisly romance until eventually, they agreed that enough was enough. They then came to the Shadow domain, to the Silence lair, where they could live in peace without demeaning looks from their old friends and family.
