Rhen grew up in a wealthy shadow clan. He had everything he could ever want, and was spoiled rotten, thinking himself better than others. When word spread of a new Wind clan. Rhen's birth clan suggested an alliance. As a peace offering, they sent Rhen to go live with them. They were a poor clan at first, not having many luxuries. Rhen's first weeks were tough. He was used to so much, and now he had so little. This experience made him very humble and generous. He met his soon to be mate, a cold-hearted plague Skydancer who cared little about him. It was an arranged mating, and they had little in common. When a female Wildclaw named Dusk came as a gift from another clan, he instantly fell in love. He and Dusk had a connection. They went to the elder council of their clan, begging to be together. The council refused to make them mates, but allowed them to be lovers and have the occasional nest of eggs.
