Zae

The hard, metal floor feels cold against her cheek, making her shiver. She pick herself up slowly, muscles still weak for sleeping for so long. But the thought of her sleeping has puzzled her. Was I....sleeping? She ponders as she look around the room. Her vision is still blurry and the room is dark.
She prop herself against what seems to be an operation table and notice that her thighs and arms feels very cold compared to the rest of her body. She gives one of her arms a touch to warm them up, only to feel the icy metal instead of her scales. The metal pieces gives a similar texture to a furnace, cold and unused. This only brought more confusion to herself.

"What happen to me?" She asked herself, shivering uncontrollably. Scared and clueless, she tries ponder what was the last thing that she remembers. Only that she couldn't. She cannot remember anything before she blacked out. The only memory that is left was her name.

"Zae," she mutters, even though there isn't anybody else in the room to respond. "My name.....is Zae."

At least I am making progress, she thought to herself. She stroke her metal arm gently. Her scaley hand caress with the hard steel, feeling the empty slots where a faint gush of heat is emitting. Her body is slowly heating up and she finally stopped shivering. But she feels a strange sensation inside of her.

"I feel.....like I'm burning from the inside!" she screams, going into a panic state. Her temperature continues to rise higher and higher, feeling as though her insides are being cooked. Her breathing grows heavy as though she was in heat. Except she's literally in heat.

But her unease feeling of becoming a living furnace has subsided quickly as a new feeling comes to play. The feeling of being alive. Her muscles, once tensed, has relaxed and are full of energy. The feeling overwhelms her, causing her to let out a fit of laughter; ready to take on the day.

She glance to her furnace arms, now spewing flames out of the sockets. Once an unnatural augmented feature has become one of the fascinating things about her brand new awakening.

The flames are bright enough to light up the room, revealing to be some sort of morgue, completed with cabinets and counter tops as well as tools and metal scraps. The tube behind her was broken, glass shards scattered across the floor. She was amazed that she hasn't stepped in any.

A new thought has come to her mind: Was she dead? Judging her new and odd augmented parts, she believes that it does make sense to some degree. But the idea to wake up from the slumber of death mind shocking and unbelievable that it brings more questions than answers.

She turns her attention to the door across the room. If I'm going to find answers, I'm not finding anything from here alone, she thought to herself. She carefully steps over to broken class and walk out the door, starting off her new journey.
