You will never forget what Eos put you through, and you doubt you will forgive it either. But, the fact of the matter is, she has taken the crown by right of force. That is the way of things in the Scarred Wasteland.

You find that you don't mind as much as you could. You are all headed to the northwest, to trees and flowers and sweet, damp earth. It will be too cold, too wet for you there. At least here, in the clinging rot, you were never cold.

But there are better things to think about than that. In a place, for example, where leadership is given freely by those who are led, you may stand a better chance of making your own way. And, you may even have someone worth making the long sacrifice of biding your time for.

Not that she seems to notice. But there is no rush. You aren't a foolish, headstrong imbecile, like Iodine was. You'll have all the time in the world.

They are all idiots. A constant litany of swirling inanity. You are young, yes, but you were brought here with intent. Found lovely by the matron, found desirable by the rebel, found worthy by the plotters.

Rebellion is worthless. Rebellion changes nothing, in the end.

You are the revolution, and you have your faith, still hidden away. You barely remember your time before the disease, before the filth, but you know it existed, and you will not be fooled.

There is a better way, and if they are all to squeamish, too comfortable to seek it out, so be it.

They need a leader, and you have always been destined for greatness.

Why else would they have named you Aurum?
