The Shining Warrior
(he cleans and paints his armor over and over to hide the bloodstains)

Ciro is fierce, unrelenting, cold, and quite cruel on the battlefield. However, when he returns from the fighting he is calmer, and he regrets. He feels shame for his actions, and it's a contradiction he has yet to come to terms with.

He finds a thrill in fighting other living beings, and he enjoys fighting for the sake of it. Lately, due to the fragile peace brought about by Nadine, Ciro has been restless. He works himself hard and patrols at night for hours, not quite willing to accept that peace has come (for now), until finally his drooping eyelids force him into sleep.

He ties a flower to his wrist to try and remember his mate in the heat of battle. Sometimes it works and calms him, sometimes it does not. He is always careful to keep it from blood, but his efforts eventually fail and he must replace it.

He dreams of sunlight, warmth, and a gentle childhood, memories of his life before he was conscripted. Before his life went downhill. He whispers quiet words to Cahaya in the middle of the night, and she listens.

He prays that Nadine will not find out.
