N U L L

Once, countless eons ago, strange entities beyond the imagination of dragonkind lived in harmony for thousands of years. They enjoyed the prosperity of their peaceful realm — until a terrible Shade was called down from between the stars by a thoughtless god, and it consumed them. Night fell. Magic died. Chaos reigned.

This Forgotten Realm sealed itself off in an attempt to protect the rest of reality …

Two Years Ago, the Arcane Flight discovered a ritual in their folktales that promised to summon unknown beings from beyond the void. The Arcanist’s acolytes performed the ritual as part of the Starfall Celebration in 2018: they invited dragons from across Sornieth to join in their Ritual Rave and draconic magicks from across all the Flights were combined through neon runes painted on scales, whirling dances and the rhythmic pulse of music — but the ritual failed.

Or so we thought...

A few months ago, not long after the Greenskeeper Gathering (in June 2020), Arcane dragons discovered an ancient gateway from a forgotten age. The upright circle of stones stood empty amid a shattered plain, surrounded by an eerie silence and an unexplained chill.

The Arcanist and his scholars ventured from the Observatory to examine this discovery.

Symbols ringed the circumference of the gateway — almost like an invitation. Following their deity’s instructions, the scholars inscribed more draconic runes to either side of the arch and focused their magic upon the central point. The Arcanist drew in his Breath and unleashed it.

They could not know that the Ritual Rave two years before had weakened the barriers between the worlds. They could not know that, ever since, terrible darkness from another reality had been probing at the cracks between dimensions. They could not know that a burst of draconic spellcasting would be enough to break the last defences laid by the ancient mages of the Forgotten Realm.

At the heart of a swirling vortex of Arcane energy, the Forbidden Portal tore open.

The landscape was grey and bleak. The sky was dark, covered with heavy clouds. Faint tendrils waved down from the darkness overhead, curling around anything that they could reach. The ground was cracked, dry beneath their claws. The distant callings of strange creatures echoed, unanswered. Only the occasional dry shrub dotted the area, and it was a wonder how it could survive, with so little water and minimal sunlight. Jagged rough rocks jutted out of the ground. Small pools of water could be seen in the distance, but it looked contaminated and unhealthy for drinking.

The Forbidden Portal led to a barren wasteland.

This dragon was rescued from fodder floor during a dominance battle. It was sniped at fodder price due to its age, and if you should find this dragon at risk of being exalted, you can gladly save it again by doing any of the following:

Selling it back to Jyxxie for the price you paid for it
Sending it to Jyxxie at no charge to help save more older dragons
Send it into themewtwolady's exalt rescue
