Biography

RAISTLIN
The Soulforged

Clan Role: Mage
Mate: None
Pronouns: he/him
Bio: Raistlin was born a twin to his brother, Caramon, but his egg didn't hatch until much later. Many were concerned that it never would, and that there was no living dragon inside the egg. Much to the surprise of everyone, the egg eventually did hatch, though the young Nocturne inside was sickly, shivering from fever his first night and wracked with terrible coughing. His would-be twin stayed by his side near constantly, taking care of his brother with as much devotion as a Guardian would show to their charge.

Eventually, Raistlin pulled through, though the sickness had left him weak and unable to fly by normal means. Raistlin always felt inferior to other dragons, especially his brother, who was as strong and healthy as any could hope to be. But one day, the little Nocturne discovered he had a gift: his magic. It was unparalleled by almost any other dragon in the clan, and with his species tying him to both quick learning and the shadow element, it was said he'd go far. At this point, something no one had predicted took place: Raistlin's father stepped in and offered to train him. Eagerly, Raistlin accepted, and was taken to be tested and trained in solitude for the length of one year. Only his father and brother went with him, the latter as a sort of bodyguard, and because Caramon couldn't bear to be separated from his twin.

When he returned from this, Raistlin was different. Neither he nor Caramon would talk about what happened, but Raistlin has worn a hood constantly from that moment on. It was whispered that something was wrong with his eyes. Though he was still somewhat sickly, Raistlin could now fly with the help of his magic. His voice always has a raspy, haunting quality to it, and he shuns the company of all but his brother and father. And even then, he sometimes gets fed up with them all. He has no time for anyone else and is quite selfish. No one dares to disrespect him, though, with the sheer power of his magic.
