Helps hatchlings learn to fly Born during a storm in the midst of Thundercrack Carnivale, Tempest has always felt closer to the sky with its lightning and thunder than to her native element of Ice. Feeling out of place among her original clan, she decided to search for a place where she felt she belonged. She was a naturally strong flyer, and so even though she was still quite young, she crept away from her birth clan one night, never to return. Initially, she had planned to join the ranks of dragons who pledged their service to the Stormcatcher, but random chance caused the wind to blow her off course, and she ended up in Windsinger's domain. It was starting to get dark by then and, exhausted, searched for the nearest safe place to rest. She noticed a few dragons flying around the cliffs beneath her and decided to see if they would allow her to join them for the night. What was meant to be a single night of hospitality changed the young Skydancer's life. The dragons she'd seen took her in with no questions asked - travelers are a common sight in Wind Flight territory, after all. They fed her, exchanged stories, and even gave her a spot of her own where she could sleep. When she awoke the next morning, she explored the land around the clan's lair and found it beautiful, but the thing that intrigued her most about this place was a story she'd heard the previous night about the great storm at the Twisting Crescendo. She wanted to go to it, to be one of the precious few dragons to ever fly through to the eye of the storm and live to tell the tale. She decided to stay with the clan permanently, and began to learn everything she could about flying. She devoured any information; how best to conserve energy on lengthy flights, how to ride air currents, even how to crash land in the safest way possible. She became so knowledgeable that she was eventually approached by Zinnia, the Snapper who took care of all of the hatchlings in the clan. As a Snapper, she couldn't teach the hatchlings to fly, and so she offered the job to Tempest, who excitedly agreed. Now, when she's not training to accomplish her dream of conquering the great storm, Tempest teaches the little hatchlings everything she knows about flying. She takes her position seriously, and as a dragon who has always done her best to achieve her dreams, she hopes she can impart some of the same values to her students.
