Kintsukuroi is a bitter and anti-social dragon, who doesn't speak much unless she feels it's necessary.
As much as she denies it, Kintsukuroi was born as CoalDust: a Plague dragon from a powerful and ruthless clan that still roams the Scarred Wasteland to this day.

Her troubles began not long after her birth; her parents disappeared (she believes they were murdered by the matriarch) and she was forced to learn to fight from an early age. She wasn't as strong as her peers and was mostly looked down upon. What she lacked in strength however, she made up for in her magical abilities and her ability to memorize full bodies of text.
After she came of age, she was forced to partake in her clan's trials in order to prove herself. One of these trials was to kill the first dragon of another clan she met, a task that she refused to do once she saw that the dragon in question was an injured mother guarding her hatchlings. As a consequence, she was banished, and left alone with no means to protect herself.

During the next few years, she traveled far and wide learning every means to survive in the wasteland. Her magical abilities had grown, and so had her knowledge on just how ruthless the wastelands could be.
After her 4th year in exile, she found herself outside the Scarred Wastelands and saw that the world she knew was not all like the wastelands.

Eventually, she arrived in the Viridian Labyrinth, seeing just how beautiful the land there was and joined a friendly Nature clan. It was from them that she learned about the full details about the Plague/Nature war, now believing that her own element was full of filthy savages. She hid all indicators of her past life (Her eyes, her markings caused by rot, even her old name) and studied more about Nature.

She later met a fundamentalist group of dragons who planned on erasing the entirety of the wasteland to make it resemble more like the Viridian Labyrinth using complex and mostly unknown shade magic. Still hateful towards the Plague Flight as a whole, she joined them.

But the plan was quickly thwarted, and she now carries a bounty on her head by the entire Plague Flight.


So this was a case of a Cinderella story. Back during her time, physical strength was valued more than mental, since the lair was so smol back then. One needed to survive. And because of her drab colours and lack of strength, she couldn't stand out in the best way. One day, she found a spellscroll for crackle and tried to cast it on herself. The process seemed to split her into many pieces, and it was very painful. But magically, where there were cracks, they were fixed together with a lovely gold magic. When she returned to the lair, everyone was impressed with her looks, and considered her "Blessed by the PlagueMother". She even managed to have an affair with one of the NeonWave's (the lair's oracle) husbands. It might have been a good life for her if it wasn't for future events that resulted in her banishment from the lair (The story's in her bio). She still doesn't regret the crackle however, since she came up with her name herself. (Her orignal given name was CoalDust)
