Biography
The Veteran.
As the second oldest Dragon of Order of Betaine, Dean is the one who helps Raki with his decisions regarding the dragons of his Group the "Asgard Fenice". He also watches the borderlines of the shared territory and is leader of the inner-clan Security. As part of a recent exchange between his home clan and the Arcane settlement of Clan Nebula, Dean travelled westwards towards the Crystal Palace high atop the Focal Point, a strange and mesmerizing world on their own. Here, he had been supposed to take part in a relaxing and laid-back exchange of wisdom between clan elders, and was to stay as the personal guest of honour of the patriach Alpha Centauri, entirely without the need to do anything if he so pleased.
Naturally, Dean's wisdom and age, as well as his generous personality, did not allow him to stay away from the action for too long.
Even before he found the opportunity to take a full survey of the new clan grounds around him he was very nearly ambushed by the fire-born dragon Arcadia, who almost tied herself into a knot of excitement at his approach.
During his entire stay Dean was accompanied by the affectionate dragoness, who did not only make sure that he was treated with respect by anyone around, but also fabricated a scarf for him, to keep him safe and warm during his stay in the unfamiliar landscapes.
It was no surprise that Dean used the experience of his long life to assist the entire clan in its training. Alpha learned about the ways of leadership used in the Fenice Normandy clan, a new wisdom he gladly accepted ; The young clan fighters Kaidan and Shepard were ofted taken into the Mire and beyound, where Dean taught them to protect their homeland more effectively. At night, when the stars came out and wistful silence spread between the ridges of the Focal Point, the old veteran was welcomed at the firegrounds, where Alpha told him every name and tale of the tiny, blinking flames above their heads. They shared stories old and new, of the first festivals and the upcoming struggles, of events that had already taken place and beauty yet to come into their lives. The clan fires seemed to burn a little brighter, fueled by fiery passion.
When his stay at Clan Nebula threatened to come to an end, the clan leaders Alpha and Caeli invited him to a short trip towards the Tangled Wood - Dean's own birthplace. They remarked that it would be much closer to the Focal Point than to the Blacksand Annex, and that it would certainly be a pleasure to see the land he had left a lifetime ago.
They flew in the blackness of night, surrounded only by the soft glow of starlight, and rested in the Wispwillow Grove, watching the shadowy trickster playing relentlessly around them while talking the night away in the strangely calming atmosphere of nothing but moon-lit darkness. Here, the elders thanked their guest profusely, promising the lasting union between their two clans and admitting how glad they were to welcome Dean in their center. Together, they went back toward the clan grounds after a long night of exploring the distant shores together.
As the day of his departure was upon them, Arcadia coiled herself loosely around Dean's neck, wrapping her spindly spiral arms around his head and stayed with him until he had to leave. As a parting gift, Dean received a hand-crafted token of birdskulls and feathers as a sign of the entire clan's gratitude, as well as a promise: Whenever he felt the need to visit the stars again, the grounds of Clan Nebula, and his new friends, would be waiting for him.
