Kurohana was born in the heart of Plague territory in a single-egg clutch. She lived there for only days before her mother, Gintsuki, fled, taking her newborn child with her. When Kurohana was half grown she was told her father, Kuroge, had died. He was eaten by an Emperor. Sorrowful, angry, indignant, Kurohana ran away from home to solve the "mystery" of her father's death, unable to accept her mother's story, leaving the widowed skydancer alone on the border of shadow and plague.

Kurohana was quickly swept up into a powerful gang where she had many adventures, gained friends and enemies, and did some things she probably shouldn't have. It all culminated in her betraying her leader to stick to her own moral code, which earned her a harsh clawing across the face and a band of powerful enemies. Kurohana fled, joining this and that clan, before finally settling here after reuniting with both her mother and father (who was not dead, but tied up in gang issues alongside his twin brother) and apologized or leaving her mother alone. Her mother and father live on the borders of Plague and Shadow together, where they make a living as hatchling caretakers as a sort of daycare, as Gintsuki's poor health prevented her from living safely in Plague. Kurohana visits them often.

Kurohana is a powerful, lithe, very proud little dragon. She may be an averagely sized mirror, but she carries herself like an imperial, full of demand and respect. She preserves her own safety and happiness above anything and anyone else. For a few select dragons, however, she will stop at nothing to save. One of these is her mate, Zodiac, who created the front leg prosthetic she wears after losing said leg in a fight defending his honor.

Kurohana delights in fighting and works as a mire flying trainer for dragons who wish to serve the Plaguebringer. However, underneath that she has a second, secret job, as an information broker. If you need to know anything, Kurohana is the one to go to. She can find any tidbit of information you need on anyone, within reason, although she prides herself on her thorough and effective database. She works closely with Requiem to protect and enhance the swarm, but will offer her services to anyone, for a price.
