A generally closed off dragon, Aeolus has few words for anyone he does not know well. He often comes off as cold and judging of others, and while to some degree this can be true, he more often is too focused on whatever goal he is currently concerned with to care about another dragon or their opinions of him. Aeolus' unshakable dedication to anything he sets his mind to lends him to stay holed up for days at a time in his quarters, planning strategies and attacks with an almost feverish intensity. When he is interrupted or his path to a goal is blocked, he can become abrasive, uncompromising, and even more determined to see his plans through to the end.

There are very few dragons who are capable of redirecting or even stopping Aeolus when he has his mind set on something. They are his perceived superiors Lorelei and Squall, and his lover, Sodalite. In particular Aeolus sees Sodalite as his better half, who makes up for the many qualities he lacks. He values him more than his own life, and is the only being he puts on the same level of importance as the Wind flight itself.

Aeolus is extremely bitter towards the Windsinger. He is aware of the single-minded dedication he puts toward Wind in its dominance efforts, and believes he does much more for the flight than the Windsinger ever has. However, he also hates how callous and uncaring he can be toward others, and the fact that the Windsinger seems to be even worse infuriates him. Though he owes the Windsinger a debt for helping him fly again, Aeolus refuses to acknowledge his existence.

When he is in the war room, Aeolus shows the cunning and harsh determination that makes up the core of his personality. He is ruthless with the design of his plans and strategies, and he can seem cruel in the way that he is willing to use any weakness against his enemies in order to accomplish a goal. If these qualities are ever brought up, he will simply reply that in war, you must do anything to win. He is more than ready to bring this mindset into battle, and regularly joins the rest of his troops in combat.

c:YsQKWNL.png Lorelei
________________________________________________________________________________

Lorelei was the first to recognize Aeolus' talents with planning and strategy, and the first to approach him when he was needed in battle. She serves as a mentor of sorts, and taught him how to fight larger, tougher opponents with only his speed and quick wits at his side. Her calm demeanor often serves as a counterweight to his ruthless war attitude.

Aeolus met Sodalite following the Windstorm. They started off formal and businesslike, but once the second Battle of the Bay hit and they spent hours together working on strategy, they became fast friends. Over the course of their time leading the flight, this friendship grew into love, and they were married following the final Battle of the Bay. Aeolus would sacrifice anything for him in a heartbeat.

As the Voice of the Windsinger, Aeolus automatically feels put off toward her. However, she is the chief guiding voice for the Clan's Council, and aids Aeolus with his strategies. In the final daylight hours of the 2016 Mistral Jamboree, she used her heightened powers to unlock Aeolus' connection to magic, allowing him to use it to power his flight after his injury.

Battle of the First Four 2016, the Final Day
Ambush

..................................

The battle raged and boiled below him, dragons writhing in and out of the clouds, the sounds of their screeching and the high whistle of magic spells filling the air. Aeolus bared his teeth and and slammed his sword into the body of another dragon. It crumpled and fell soundlessly, disappearing into the fray below.

The spiral took a moment to look around him, the magic-laden air ripping at his lungs with each harsh breath. Blood dripped from a gash above his eye, half-blinding him, but the heat singing in his veins blocked out any pain.

As he shifted his sword and looked for a new opponent, a large shape rose out of the mass of dragons below, turned toward him. A massive blue guardian, its hide covered in scars and fresh blood, locked its gaze on Aeolus.

Mistral Jamboree 2016, Sunset of the Final Day
The Healing Ceremony

..................................

The sun fell slowly through the sky, its great golden disk painting the clouds a powdery yellow. Aeolus watched as the shadows crept farther and farther across the Windswept Plateau, the vast forests of bamboo and great rocky outcroppings striking dramatic silhouettes against the fiery sky. And yet, as calm as the scene was before him, he could not find peace in it as he usually could.

The wyrm tapped his claws against the edge of the rock, an anxious static writhing in his stomach. Today was a big day. Or, it had the potential to be, if the Windsinger was willing to take notice. He sighed, his brow furrowed. The Windsinger never even took the time to come home to his own flight. Why would he step in now?

As Aeolus scratched more agitatedly on the edge of the rock, leaving faint white lines where his claws frayed on the rough surface, a tapping came from the door of his study. The spiral twisted as much as his injury would allow, craning his neck to peer at the door. "Yes?" He called, raising his voice over the breeze.
