Nienna steady ; open ; brave clan guard ick Nienna is a stable and determined dragoness. Honest of heart, she spends much time wandering the ruins in search of the distressed or lonely, hoping to grant them peace. As a result, however, she is often quiet and sorrowful, taking the pain of others onto herself. One of the primary members of the clan's Guard, she defers to Celeborn. She gets along well with him, easy-going and level. Both detesting unnecessary conflict, they do not disagree often. As a consequence of her personality rather than rank, she is tasked with primary burial rites and care of the dying. |
 Nienna, in the world of Tolkien, is a Queen of the Valar, the sister of Mandos and Irmo, associated with grief and sorrow but also pity and courage. Relationships Having been in Clan Galad since before Varda came, Nienna is close to those who were here with her: Vana and Vaire. She is also close to Mandos and Irmo. Mandos offers great knowledge of the history of burial rites, and Irmo offers insight into the spiritual. Este is her other friend, whose peaceful garden is soothing. |
Story Born on the border between the Shifting Expanse and the Sunbeam Ruins, Nienna chose to leave the Lightning territory to head North when she was still very young. She arrived at Clan Galad long before Varda came, when the harpies were just beginning to threaten the small clan's stability. She quickly joined the guard, brave and full of life. When dragons began to fall, Nienna volunteered to take on burial ceremonies and care of the dying. It was she who buried the last clan Matriarch, Erzulie. |
