KOLJA
Clan Co-Leader
calm | thoughtful | persistent

Build: Kelp Beds Kraken - 2 Fodder Trainer

he/him

Main Theme: Sunken Dreams of the Whale

Born in the gloom of the Leviathan Trench, Kolja's lack of pigmentation was seen as an ill omen - for nothing is more dangerous in the abyss than light. Worse still was the realization that he was completely blind.

However, this was not the end. What Kolja lacked in physical ability he made up with his extraordinary mental ability, possessing some of the most powerful oracular abilities his clan had ever seen. Always several seconds ahead of the world, he navigated his landscape with more assurance than most sighted dragons could boast.

Although he could have easily become a well-regarded prophet, Kolja put his abilities to use elsewhere. With the future clear in his mind he dives into the deepest corners of the trench to retrieve artifacts from the past, evading the horrors that lurked below with ease. Each successful journey was its own reward, and he rarely sought compensation for his work.

Things changed when he was getting older. He felt that his abilities were going through a shift. Lucid dreams - where he could explore the effects of alternate choices in the near future - lighted up his nights.

A vision prompted him to move on to new places. Kolja had only the dimmest picture of what he was seeking, but he knew that whatever it was, it would be well worth the suffering once found. While following his senses into the so far unexplored underwater caves, he felt the presence above and knew he was leaving the sanctuary of the tidelord. Kolja was entering the unfamiliar territories of other deities, just beneath the lands of Sornieth using paths noone else had used before.

Temperature changes let him guess his location, and when it was getting colder and the tunnels started to let some of the light from above prickle down on his smooth skin, he knew he had reached the Icefields. His fur started to grow and he clambered onto land for the first time of his life.

It was certainly strange, but also very refreshing to breath the air from this land. He felt as if he had been coming home, since nobody assumed he was a stranger. Kolja found out, that the land was mostly populated by dragons of his type. White, fur-covered dragons. He had never given anything about appearances, how should he? But nevertheless, he felt happy.

Bron. When they first met there was a connection immediatly. Kolja didn't play much in his past, but this cubs energy really was infectious. He loved to take care of this funny kid, especially when he realized that his parents absolutely had no chance to calm him down. Kolja's eyesight got better and he had a pair of glasses beeing made for him and also Bron, as a sign of their friendship. Bron only had fake glasses though, but he seemed to enjoy this piece of apparel which had a deeper meaning to both of them.

Then there was the incident which changed their lives forever. Bron got lost in the stormy waves while fooling around. In panic Kolja hoped for his ability to kick in but it didn't. It seemed like, when his ability would have been crutial to save this little guy, it failed him! As an expert swimmer he sure could have retrieved his friend, but the waves were unpredictable and the hatchie was soon out of sight. Nevertheless, Kolja started swimming out in the ocean, searching for every floe he could find in hope there was Bron on it.

He returned completely exhausted and frustrated. Because of his hasty actions he had lost his glasses in the waves - he noticed he didn't need them anymore! He started early the next days and didn't stop seeking out until the sun went down. A week later he gave that up. He couldn't search the whole ocean. So he started looking on the nearest beaches... and finally found Brons fake glasses stranded near the Ashfall Waste. He inquired everywhere but nobody had seen him, a little white hatchling.

Koljas quest let him deeper in the lands of the fire deity. When he approached another traveller with the description who he sought out to find, he got an important clue: no white tundra had been seen lost, though there was a pitch black one who had been found stranded at the beach a few days ago.

While the others of the clan were busy in the mine, Kolja did feel like climbing the rocks that were topping the mine. He had a weird feeling. Was that a cold breeze? Rarely he felt things like that near the great furnace. But it was true. He struggled to get higher but it was worth the effort. The single blows of frosty wind brought a few single snow stars, which melted immediately once he touched them. This woke old memories. Kolja looked down to the clan with a nostalgic feeling. He embraced them for a while, quietly, while the few snow flocks started to soak his fur. He shivered and shook away his deep thoughts. Now was not the time for that! He had to tell the hatchlings about it! They probably had never seen snow before!
