   Igus
    the master engraver

   The most practical of his clutch, Igus waited patiently while his siblings immediately chose the life paths they were called to. He didn't feel any particular calling, and was content to wait while they asserted who they were going to be and what they were going to do. He picked up the odd skill here and there, but was mostly content to drift, looking for something that would catch his attention. In time, his siblings left the clan, but he remained, still searching for a purpose.

   Eventually, Igus began to notice that he was drawn to little things. A carving on a crate of books, a tiny bit of filigree on a clanmate's armor. He started trying to replicate the designs that spoke to him the most. At first, he was fairly horrible at it, but over time, his skills grew. He liked working with metals and carving tools most of all, and eventually adopted the title of Master Engraver for himself. He is, perhaps, not quite as much of a master as he claims to be, but for an Imperial he has a surprisingly delicate touch, and he does have a certain amount of skill.

   Engraving, as it turns out, is not a service that is in high demand in the Lightweaver's domain. The Sunbeam Ruins prides itself on books and knowledge, not on fancy metalwork. So, after a lavish farewell party for the youngest of the clutch, Igus set out on his own. He was seeking both a market for his goods and a teacher to help him hone his skills, so that he could truly deserve to claim mastery of engraving.
