Shadow, one of Diamondtoria's children, showed an affinity for the arcane arts much sooner than any of his talented siblings. He takes greatly after his mother and flourished under her tutelage, vowing to become a sorcerer much like her from a young age. A passionate student with the desire to succeed, Shadow sped through his studies like a hurricane, leaving his tutors astonished and mother overjoyed.

Deciding upon a trip to gain knowledge of magics from other territories upon his maturity, Shadow spent several years away from clan territory, returning a grown dragon, requesting true apprenticeship under his mother. Diamondtoria promptly took him once again under her wing and so began Shadow’s duties as an apprentice.

Though he has not officially specialized yet and is studying all branches of magic, Shadow has an affinity for the magic of his namesake. He's a talented illusionist, using the shadows around him for his magic. The realm of the Shadowbinder called to him and showed him an art he became fascinated with. Shadow found the way Shadow dragons employed illusions ingenious and wanted to learn. A hermit taught him the basic theory, gave him a few valuable books and sent him on his way, unwilling to take on a student. He returned home to learn illusions from his mother, unaware of the struggle he was going to face for the first time.

The art of illusions was incredibly hard for him and he spent weeks trying to master even the simplest of them. His mother taught him a valuable lesson to help him: patience. While Shadow has always been driven and determined, he was also jittery and easily distracted. He had always excelled and never had to truly push himself to the limit.

His mother told him to meditate, much to Shadow’s surprise. Meditation was an impossible task for his first few sessions, but with meditation came a clear mind and inner strength he hadn't realized he had. Illusions became easier and an art Shadow loved. Nowadays he's able to fool even the keenest of dragons' senses, a true master of Illusions. He’s able to induce fake sensations such as heat or pain. He layers illusions upon illusions, making a dragon lose himself in the layers of phantasmagoria.

A charismatic leader since his youth, Shadow's always been the center of attention, the heart of the group, laughing and joking with others, the opposite of his siblings. It's left him estranged from most of them but Regulus, which greatly saddens him. Shadow’s a prideful creature, only grudgingly accepting criticism, even from his mother. He dislikes lazing about, feeling like he has to do something whenever he’s taking some time off. He loves freedom and takes a few weeks to travel whenever possible.

Shadow's mate is Elloise, a rather mysterious Coatl he met outside the clan and fell in love with. She followed him to his home and has found a comfortable spot in the lair making beautiful glass sculptures and jewelry. The pieces that Shadow proudly wears are some of her most beautiful creations.
