Bora

Her biological mother, Makala, was a powerful mage. While attempting a new complicated and dangerous spell, she vanished without a trace. No one is really sure what happened to her. They found no evidence of what might have happened. One minute she was performing the spell, the next she was gone. It is believed that she possibly transported herself somewhere else, but there is no telling where, or if she's even still alive. The guards have been searching for any sign of her, but nothing. No one's seen or heard from her. Many have given up on her ever returning.

While everyone else has stopped trying to find her, Bora hasn't. She is determined to find out what happened to her mother. Everyone else claims it's a lost cause, but she believes that she's out there somewhere. Bora has been looking into everything she can in order to find her. She's studied everything she can on magic to try to figure out what went wrong. She's researched the spell itself and looked into others who performed it. There isn't much information on it, but apparently others have mysteriously vanished as well.

Bora is so desperate to find her mother that she has even considered performing the spell herself to find out firsthand what happened. However, her dad and brother constantly try to talk her out of it and beg her to stop this nonsense. They believe Makala is gone, and they're afraid of losing Bora, too. Meanwhile Yakira stays out of the family drama, despite how much she wants to help. She knows Bora has issues with her "replacing" her mother and she won't listen to anything she has to say.
