Ruffle
The one who stayed behind

Ruffle was seeing her sister, Lace, off to the Windsinger. Lace was anxious to run with the other exaltees; but Ruffle held her back for a last wing brush. Haru happened to be at the ridge. He was transfixed. Lace took off running and never looked back--and Ruffle and Haru have not been parted since. Their four hatchlings took after Auntie Lace and were off to join Windsinger in just as sprightly a fashion; but Mom and Dad have done well since, taking up many interests and growing together. They love to hang out with Mocha at his coffee bistro.
