Thyrfing

Tyrfing was a magic sword in Norse mythology. It had a golden hilt and shone and gleamed like fire; it would never miss a stroke, would never rust, and would cut through stone and iron as easily as it cut through clothes. However, it was also cursed so that it would kill a man every time it was drawn and that it would be the cause of three great evils.

Similarly, it was foretold at his hatching that Thyrfing would have the potential to become a great warrior but also to cause much evil. His outlook on life has been somewhat crushed by the weight of this prophecy and he mostly keeps to his moody self in a watery grotto that he shares with an equally moody Iridescent Scaleback, occasionally emerging to make cynical remarks and lurk at the edges of clan gatherings.

Since the most recent Thundercrack Carnivale a Lightning Lancer has mysteriously shown up at Thyrfing's cave and he seems to be more interested in tinkering and engineering, the specialties of his birth Flight. Perhaps something interesting will come of this newfound hobby.
