➵ back when Caieta and Tzvetan still lived together in the Southern Icefields, Tzvetan chose to pursue exaltation in worship of the Icewarden. Caieta originally promised to join him in her own time, but never followed through (partly out of self-interest, partly out of her self-imposed sense of sacred responsibility)
➵ Tzvetan was released from Exaltation and placed in care of the Lightweaver, who blessed him with her colors. Caieta believes him to be a spy (unwitting or not) of the Icewarden and therefore keeps him at arm's length
➵ Why doesn't she kick him out? A combined sense of misplaced duty and lingering affection
➵ Still, Caieta finds Tzvetan's favor with not one but two deities to be a goddamn kick in the head
➵ Because it's so like Tzvetan to do the bare minimum and get showered with recognition and praise—especially when Caieta's groundbreaking work only ever seems to incur divine wrath
