Ash, as almost any other mirror, is a creature with a mind of his own.
Fleeding from his father's all-consuming ambitions, he traded a life of a clan leader's yongest son to one of a lone mirror.
Solitary hunts both developed his skills and hardened his character. And those combined with inborn mysantophy and estrangement eventualy led him to a life of a bandit and then an assasssin, jumping from pack to pack, from clan to clan, hunting prey and contracts.
Until one day he decideed to stay. And apparently all it took is someone persistent enough to make him.

Anyone new to the clan would think that his primary function, apart from being almost constantly hungry, is not getting well with others, but he is a good hunter and a good weapon for someone unswerving enough to wield him.
