well-meaning but dumb

 Nandi is a big, dumb, tolerably good-natured lug. He’s entirely obedient to Thorne, although he occasionally mixes up what he’s supposed to be doing, much to her annoyance. His hunting skills are solid, but he’s best placed an ambush or finishing position, as he’s not the most agile of the mirrors in the chase. He’s tremendously strong, however, and can bring down surprisingly large prey by himself.

Gourgeist, Thorne's mate for a time, saw Nandi as the next-most dominant male and went out of his way to push the younger mirror around. Nandi actually has no ambitions toward dominance, and he was hugely relieved when Gourgeist left. His sister, Zyr, takes shameless advantage of him, but he’s always happy to help her out with things, even if he sometimes gets in trouble for it. And he thinks Lynfa is cute and amazing, but he has absolutely no idea how to approach her.

– When it comes to meat, Nandi will eat anything and everything, right down to the bones and gristle, but his favorite food? Meeaaat stiiicks....

His ruby webwing Blood was a gift from his older brother Sunflash, one of the notorious Mirror Brothers.

And why does he have a garden watcher? Nobody's quite sure, including him. It just came trotting through the meadow one day and started following him around. After a couple of hours of perplexity (can eat? or not?), he shrugged and decided that it belonged to him, somehow. He still isn't quite sure what to do with it, but he talks to it and sometimes gives it awkward pats.
