Gale's Thoughts: Eel
Eel is someone I've grown to begrudgingly respect for no other reason than I really enjoy watching her make other dragons angry. She's probably the most liked dragon that lives out in Purlieus Hagalaz, if I'm being entirely honest.
She's a thief, a raider that made herself well enough known in the nature realm that she was actually captured by an angry victim of hers at one point. Everything she wears on the daily except for her signature bandana was stolen from someone else. She has not changed her ways since coming to us many, many years ago, but she has become smarter about it and she likes most of the dragons here well enough that if she does steal from one of us, it's all done in fun and she usually returns whatever it was she stole.
(She does enjoy stealing my scarves and not giving them back, though. She's taken at least twelve of my good ones at this point and I'm hoping lucky number thirteen is the one I get to keep)
Travelers are not always so lucky, but as I said before, half the fun of knowing Eel is watching to see other dragons' reactions to her. Even if they don't know yet that she's stolen from them, she has an uncanny ability to make other dragons fume with anger just by talking to them. She's quick-witted and cutting with her words, and spares no expense when someone is being particularly ridiculous. It's even more fun watching her defend the other Chiaroscurians when someone is starting to get rude with them; she enjoys inserting herself into all sorts of disputes and calling out mean customers.
Eel says someday she wants to pickpocket everyone at one of Hotel Contraste's big conventions without anybody noticing. I'd tell her not to do it for moral reasons alone, but I actually kind of want to see if she can pull it off. It'd be a fun thing to bet on if nothing else.
Maybe I should be a bit more critical of her, but I like her spunk, she makes Oracle happy, and she's integrated herself so deeply into the clan at this point I'd feel weird changing the script on her. So, a thief she shall remain, and I'll continue to look the other way when she's ripping into the particularly deserving jerks of the world.
