Chell saw his mother, making passes and taking on partner after temporary partner.

Rochelle saw her father, aloof and alone, too afraid of damage to let anyone in.

The genderfluid pearlcatcher never knew what to make of love, only that she desired it. What she didn't see was that her mother, promiscuous in life, was also wise and selective.

What he didn't see in his father was the years of trauma and reasonable caution.

The wisdom and sense of self preservation never rubbed off on her, just lust and fear intertwined in a very two-sided and dreadfully naive dragon/elle.


Outside of such matters, she takes solace in her own arts, though some use the word loosely. She spends her time painting scale and wing, piercing with sterile needles and otherwise being a body modification artist with no small amount of skill. No one asks how she learned. They may be afraid of the answer.
