WIP As a hatchling, she knew she wasn't bound to the Plague Deity. There was no connection; she felt lost, betrayed. Upon emerging from a membranous shell, she felt no maternal nor paternal presence, no brotherly nor sisterly love. She was alone. She sat on her haunches, reared back, and called out for someone, anyone. After countless days, her voice began to give out, leaving her raspy and short of breath. She called, and called. Nobody came. Eventually, with her vocal chords torn beyond repair, she dried her eyes and hauled herself up to her feet. Today, she thought, I'll find home. The first few steps were hard for her. She'd gone days without taking so much as a step - she was starved and dehydrated. She could barely put one foot before the other. It took her a significant chunk of time to figure out how to properly work her legs. Lift... forward... down, lift... forward oh shi-... ..... down... I think I've got this. On and on she shambles; after days spent foraging in the Scarred Wastelands replenishing her energy, sating her hunger, she stumbles upon the Tangled Woods. Where there is foliage, there is water. She arrives at the edge of a densely-packed forest, its parameter surrounded by [trees] that towered over even the tallest of Imperials. These trees, however, were in monochrome, or so she thought. The radioactive glow of fungi strained her eyes and they traced the trees from root to canopy - she couldn't see past a cloud of thick, heavy fog falling quickly towards her. She felt claustrophobic just standing there with the sky falling onto her - she took a glance behind her and saw the ground crumbling, speeding towards her.. but how? She didn't know how this was possible, she didn't care, either; she ran, away from the sky that collapsed, speeding unto her, away from the uncertainty shifting beneath her claws, straight into the beckoning arms of The Tangled Woods. Dehydrated and dirty, the exhausted Wildclaw fell to her knees, panting. After that felt like hours of running, her body couldn't handle the strain any longer. She retched, expelling whatever meager contents her stomach contained. |
