It was clear from a young age Thorne had inherited her mother's skillful hands and love for creating things. She spent much of her childhood glued to her mother's side as she tinkered with her latest project, trying to emulate her. From her father she gained a deep love for children. She was the best big sister any dragon could imagine and helped out her father in guarding the hatchery whenever she could, though she spent more time playing with the balls of fur and teeth than guarding. What had prompted her to learn toy making was the many torn plush toys and chewed up figurines she'd find while entertaining the young ones. She started small, with little plushies and carvings, but with experience came confidence and Thorne began on bigger projects. She caught the attention of several parents who began buying her creations for a few coins, turning her hobby into a job she loves. The first thing that everyone notices about Thorne is her endless enthusiasm and energy. She's always flitting about, smiling and laughing, enjoying life to the fullest. She's an optimist and idealist, always thinking the best of others. Thorne's overly curious and sticks her nose into everything. She's unable to resist a child's puppy dog eyes and easily gives in to their pleas, spoiling them rotten. While Thorne creates toys from many different materials and of many different kinds, her favorites will always be plushies of dragons and the Deities. They're easy to make and bring such happiness into the eyes of children. Thorne makes free toys she gives to parents who can't afford them or secretly gives them to their children. Whenever she's out of her workshop she's surrounded by hatchlings running under her feet, hanging from her tail or jumping onto her back. It's quite a comedic sight, especially when she starts acting tired and gently throws them off of her or falls to the ground with them into a heap, trapping them in her arms and starting a tickling match. She's every hatchling's "big sis". Dragons call her too childish, but Thorne cares little about their opinion. Thorne hatched with underdeveloped wings with frail bones, soft, downy feathers and a thin, translucent membrane covering them. Healers were grim and proclaimed her unfit for any and all flying for a long time, if ever. Little Thorne hadn't thought much of it at first, but as she grew up she noticed she couldn't do things other children could, saddening her. Her mother, the stubborn, genius woman she is, built a special device she attached to her back to help keep Thorne from putting pressure onto the bones and help her develop the muscles in them with special exercises. Now in adulthood her wings are much like any Skydancer’s, if slightly frail. She still wears a similar device whenever she's planning to fly for longer stretches of time as she tires easily, but is able to fly around freely for small intervals.
