Luck
The Lucky Charm of Fogfloe.

Like his namesake, Luck is looked upon fondly by fortune. Upon returning from a walk, it’s not uncommon for him to find coins wedged between his toes, and the Fogfloes have learned the hard way never to bet against him in games of Higher or Lower. There’s a running joke that good luck is Luck’s quaternary gene, passed down from his equally blessed parents.

While other Snappers whittle away at their tablets or pore over tomes, Luck prefers simpler pursuits like sunbathing and watching shellbugs crawl across leaves. He lacks some of the book wisdom typical of his species but he retains a hatchling’s delight at the world. It takes a lot to faze him; Luck is as grounded as you might expect of a dragon not built to fly. It’s why he’s best equipped to deal with Serge, unmoveable and serene in the face of Serge’s black bouts of temper.

Luck is also the clan’s unofficial Fareweller - it’s a tradition to see him before leaving on a long journey to ensure safe travel. Even the most standoffish and sceptical have adopted the practice to stave off the inexplicable prickling unease at the back of their necks when they don’t.

Luck is a pacifist… But the wind in the right moment may turn a piece of dried reed into a blade.
