Uh-oh, looks like this bright little ugly wandered a little too far from his lair in Aster Clan (wesleydog, #131725), and now he's off to see the world and find his charge! If ever you feel the urge to exalt, he'd really appreciate it if you could just return him home instead, or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here. He is, after all, a very rare color combination (1/7) and is a lore dragon! He was born to the daughter of Aster Clan's leaders, though he never felt quite at home in the clan. His father was a vagabond; a wanderer. He had journeyed from the Windswept Plateau through the Shrieking Wilds until he finally reached the Starfall Isles. Hemlock's father felt as though he belonged nowhere. He could never stay put for too long without getting antsy and glum. It was foolish of his father to start a family, but the Fae thought it may help him settle down. Unfortunately, he was wrong. Depression got the better of him, and he packed up and left the clan on short notice, leaving his mate and her two newborn hatchlings behind. Hemlock loved his mother very much, because he saw the good in her. He knew she was a dreamer and a great guard. However, his mother left him and his brother while they were still rather young because she simply couldn't deal with the loss of their father. Being the child of the clan patriarch's favorite daughter won Hemlock great favor with the patriarch as well. Birch taught Hemlock some unique combat skills and Reed taught him all about Arcane history. Hemlock took a special interest in the natural world, despite his clan's strong connections to the supernatural. True to his Arcane nature, many days he found himself making observations and recording facts about the things he saw around him. He was happy learning about the stars from his grandmother, but he was overjoyed learning about flora and fauna from his personal observation! Hemlock was always rather close to his brother Cyclone, despite the fact that Cyclone admired their father very much and Hemlock was a bit more indifferent towards him. After all, they were in this together. Both of them had been left behind by their parents, and they trained and grew up together. It would have been very difficult not to establish some sort of bond. Cyclone and Hemlock constantly had one another's backs, especially while growing up with the other young of Aster Clan. The brothers loved it here, but it seemed as though the two of them had gotten the wandering gene from their parents as well. Hemlock explained to his grandparents that he felt like he needed to go explore for his guardian charge elsewhere, and they were very supportive! Reed and Birch encouraged each of the brothers to go out into the world and make something of themselves. Hemlock said his thank yous and his goodbyes and departed, telling Cyclone that he hoped one day they would meet again. His first destination was the Southern Icefields. He flew past it's shore when he discovered the opening of a grotto. When he was about to explore it an other dragon just emerged from it's opening. The dragon introduced itself as Severin and offered him to come inside. While sharing some food Severin told Hemlock that he and his clan were busy packing stuff to move to the Sea of a Thousand Currents. Hemlock decided that this would be a good oppertunity for him to travel to the Sea of a thousand currents in the protection of a full clan. And so he set off with the Cold Waters clan to the Tidelord's lands. After a long journey they arrived at their destination. Hemlock decided to stay with the clan for a while and help them settle in their new enviorment. After having stayed for a long while and having made many good friends Hemlock decided it was time to continue his journey. Clanleader Choco gifted Hemlock an azure choker for all the things Hemlock had done for the clan. Hemlock treasured his new gift and said his farewells to the clan. Hemlock took flight towards the vast forest in the distance, and flew until he found himself lost within the trees. After a few lonely days and nights, Hemlock realized he'd need some help if he was ever going to find a way out. It was then he heard some chuckling from the vines above him, and looked up to see one of them slithering around! The stealthy spiral revealed himself as Naseem, and went on to describe how he had been stalking the lost guardian since his arrival. It was for his own safety, as well as the spiral's duty as a sentry. Lots of travelers wander into the forest and so many are lost there, that this noodle was going to help Hemlock find his way. The guardian was suspicious at first, but Naseem's friendly banter and stories made him smile as the two made their way to the forest's end. When they finally arrived, Hemlock turned back to thank the spiral, but there was no sign of him. After a grateful pause, the guardian continued on his way. (feel free to continue his story) |
